Goizueta Children's Experience

For Wren’s 2nd birthday, we wanted something fun, engaging, and toddler-friendly—without the chaos of a full-blown party. So, we packed up and headed to Atlanta for a little family adventure: good food, hands-on history, and making memories together.
First Stop: Velvet Taco 🍽️
Because no celebration is complete without good food, we kicked off the day at Velvet Taco in Buckhead. If you haven’t been, imagine a taco spot that’s anything but traditional—think fusion flavors, house-made tortillas, and the kind of menu that makes you want to order one of everything. Wren happily devoured cheese dip and we ate chicken and brisket tacos.
Goizueta Children’s Experience at the Atlanta History Center 🎉
The highlight of the day was the Goizueta Children’s Experience at the Atlanta History Center. Designed for young kids, this space is all about interactive learning and play. Wren got to explore hands-on exhibits, touch historical artifacts (aka toddler heaven), and run around in a space built for curious little minds.
He especially loved:
✨ The pretend play areas—because what’s better than being in history rather than just looking at it?
✨ The open space to move, play, and explore—perfect for a two-year-old with endless energy.
For us, it was the perfect mix of entertainment and education. Plus, since it’s part of the Atlanta History Center, we got to soak in some of the other exhibits while Wren recharged in the stroller.
A Cheesesteak Sendoff: Woody’s for Dinner 🧀🥖
After a full day of birthday fun, we grabbed Woody’s Cheesesteaks on our way out of the city. If you know, you know—this little Atlanta gem has been serving up gooey, melty, perfect cheesesteaks for decades. We took ours to-go, making for an ideal low-key dinner after a big day of adventure.
